Thought this might me of interest to some of your listeners. It’s a US-based competition, but open to Australians, too:

“To enter the LITERARY TAXIDERMY SHORT STORY COMPETITION, writers must provide an original story of up to 3000 words in any genre. The twist: We provide your opening and closing lines chosen from a classic work of literature. You provide the rest. Three winning stories will be selected, for a total prize of US $1500. In addition, winners and runners-up will be published by Regulus Press in a forthcoming 2018 Anthology of Literary Taxidermy. Learn more here: http://literarytaxidermy.com
