Kyanne Cardona is a talented netball player in the NT competition. She appreciates that transitions can be a challenge for young people leaving the Northern Territory. She is now pursuing her dream of being a remote area nurse moving to Melbourne and studying at RMIT. Kyanne has learnt the sacrifice of leaving the NT lifestyle and family to fulfill her life ambition. It was important to acknowledge on the Brekky show the cost involved for many young Indigenous people leaving home to obtain a degree and career interstate.

During our Game On segment of Andy’s Big Brekky, Lance Palmer reflected on his NT football career playing for Ltyentye Apurte and competing on the MCG during the Dreamtime Round. Dillion Barry, a successful NT player also joined the conversation discussing his football career and playing for Southern Districts. Dillion mentioned that experience of moving interstate playing at a higher level is both rewarding and challenging. This initiative he would like to help promote and help give other young people the same experience.
