I moved from SA to Alice in 1999 and started volunteering with 8CCC in 2000 having had no experience in announcing or producing radio. Over the years I’ve helped out regularly with Vashti’s Voice, Classical Sunday and Wednesday Drive as well as interviewing guests and recording local gigs. I now enjoy sharing Desert Groove with Magdalena. I love that we can create our own shows, including choosing the music rather than having it dictated to us like many other radio stations. I’ve learned heaps of skills, especially in sound production & editing, as well as meeting a great bunch of people who are all passionate about COMMUNITY radio.
