As well as volunteer presenters, there are many other ways to get involved in ’station life’!  We have a number of working teams that members are welcome to participate in.  

 

Technical Team – focus is on maintaining our broadcast equipment and computers, and look for ways to improve our tech systems

Website Team – to build on what we have and make the website more accessible for volunteers, and more interactive for listeners and presenters

Music Library team – we have a huge CD and LP library and have new music arriving in the station every day.  The CDs need to be listened to, catalogued, and the different program presenters get info about new music of interest to them and their listeners.  

Grants Team – 8CCC is a non-profit organisation.  We run on a huge amount of volunteer hours.  We also need to generate income to enable us to pay the bills – transmission costs, maintenance and purchase of equipment, rent and utilities, salaries, etc.  To date this has been generated through sponsorship, membership, fundraisers and ALSO of vital importance are the grants which we have been able to apply for and have been successful in gaining over the years.  Preparing and writing grants, liaising with grant bodies and then acquitting grants is an important job for the station.
