Big Bang Theory Show Notes – to Spain with castanets and more!

0

Hi, a quick visit to Spain this week brought some great new sounds to our ears, especially from Catalonia and a couple of surprises like I’d always thought Pascal Comelade was from France, which he is.  Confused well so am I.  Clearly I need to do some more investigation of one of Catalonia’s favourite sons …. at least a good track listing can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal_Comelade

Interested in finding out more of the music of Spain?  Get started at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_spain Great thing about wikipedia is if you then find out something more or know something of interest yourself, you can add it to the collective knowledge.  Bit like here really.  If you have an idea on countries or music styles you would like explored on tte Big Bang Theory let me know.  And thanks for the suggestions so far.

Obrint Pas – Malaguenya de Barxeta

Peret – La Fama no me Cambiara

08001 – Ras El Ma

Dumbala Canalia – Vals Virgil

La Macanita – Buleria

Marina Rossell – El Meu Avi

Ana Salazar – El Acordeonista

Kaulakau – Maese

Pascal Comelade – Noia de Porcellana

Yasmin Levy – The girl of the flowers (for Christine Burke)

Ojos de Brujo – Tantas Flores

And then for an esoteric pick …..

U Srinivas and Michael Brook – Dance (for Beanie Festival volunteers and the Araluen staff supporting the Beanie Festival as they dance through a colourful, busy and joyous weekend at the Araluen Cultural Centre in Alice Springs)

Oojami – Wicked and Wild (for Megg Kelham, local historian, to wish you good luck with the presentations about the history of the Old Gaol, next month at the National Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame in Alice Springs)

Lura – Marinhero

The view from Madelaine’s Couch – Lula Boogaloo (for Fur and Chloe who welcomed my dog Idgie into their pack, ensuring that Idgie had a stress free time while my partner and I were moving house!)  Also for the RSPCA who are doing a promotion at the moment with the Alice Springs Town Council to encourage dog owners to get registered, so you can do the Lula Boogaloo down to the council offices in Todd Street and sign your dog up.

Have a wonderful week

Joy
